My art is quiet, simple and unpretentious. Inspiration is drawn from nature and years growing up in Africa. The rawness, solitude and stillness of this country can be felt throughout my work.
After living in different countries I'm now settled in rural US, here I'm reclaiming slowness, shifting the balance from doing to being. Finding beauty in the everyday and living a humble life with gratitude and kindness.
I work with ink and raw canvas. Intuitively with slow and soft movements. The use of raw canvas allows the marks to sink beneath the surface and becoming one with the fabric.
My minimalistic landscapes implies a stillness and feeling of contentment. Hints of a deeper meaning hidden beneath the surface so the viewer can explore his/her own thoughts and emotions.
